Year 6D have studied the text Street Child in English through drama and writing. The drama included freeze framing a key moment that highlighted Jim's emotions. Using Conscience Alley to explore reasons for Jim to either leave or remain in the workhouse. As a result of this the children wrote persuasive letters to Jim.
Outdoor Learning: We used grasses, leaves, moss and pine cones to create different hairstyles for our 'spoon characters'. The writing, for this, was in French and a class display was created. (See galleries for photos of this.)
Year 6D have studied the text The Long Walk in English and studied the relationship between the Grandfather and his grandson. The Grandfather took the boy on a final walk showing him where he grew up as a child because he knew that he did not have long to live. The Eulogies have been written in role as the Grandson for his Grandfathers funeral. See 'Galleries' for a selection of writing produced. (last one in the gallery list)
