Welcome to REM's news page.
This week we have continued reading The Very Hungry Caterpillar, and the children have been observing the growth of our caterpillars, and documenting their growth using cameras.
In literacy the children have been writing diary entries from the point of view of the Very Hungry Caterpilllar, and writing about the life cycle of a butterfly. We have also been concentrating on using our golden sentence features in our writing, as well as adding wow words to make our writing more exciting.
In maths we have been solving word problems to do with adding, taking away, doubling and halving. We have also been using fruis to make symmetrical butterflies.
For our creative afternoon we are going to taste lots of fruits and vegetables, and the children will make their very own caterpillars out of a variety of healthy foods. We have been talking about which foods are good for us, and which we should only eat occasionally.
